How to create subtitles or captions by hand?
You can create subtitles manually using a text editor like Notepad or TextEdit. To do so, open up a text editor and make sure you know the proper format for a subtitle. Before beginning, click “Save As” and title it after "YourMovie.SRT."
Here are the steps to create subtitles manually using Notepad:
Open Notepad.
Save your closed-caption file with a name in the following format: MyClosedCaptions.en.vtt. A common practice is to include a two-letter language code such as “en” (for English) or “es” (for Spanish).
